Okay for computer games, on the box or on the internet games have pc capabilities and it lists all of these things you need. Does that mean you cannot play this game on a mac or yes? If so, do they make games for macs??

My PS3 updated to 3.15 about 2 weeks ago and after a restart my console no longer recognizes discs of any type, Blu-ray, dvd, game or music cds. The blu-ray player still mechanically functions; will accept and eject disc just will not load any discs.

Various issues with boot-up speed and video graphics on my new laptop?

I bought a new laptop a few weeks ago and, in short, it's rubbish. I don't know whether it's me or whether I should take it back. Or are all laptops rubbish (this is my first one) and my expectations are too high? I'm not computer literate at all, so there may be something simple that I can do, or should have done.

Since I bought it I installed the following:

Google Chrome
Firefox
Skype
MSN messenger/Windows Live
Talk Talk virus/security package

That's it. No games, no dodgy downloads, no massive video libraries, no cute "add-ons" to Firefox, no taking it apart and poking around inside it... nothing!

All I want to do with this damn thing, ALL I want to do, is create/amend/save Word and Excel files, browse the internet, use Skype and MSN for audio and video chats, send and receive e-mails, upload photographs. That's it.

Having had my rant, here are the actual issues. If anyone can help me with just ONE of these it would be a godsend. They mainly seem to revolve around video and graphics, maybe there's an easy fix?

1. It takes forever to boot up when I switch it on. 30 seconds from switch-on to asking me to log in, about a minute from there to loading my screen, and having loaded my screen about another minute or two before it will allow me to click on something (the hard drive light is almost constantly on for the whole time). I don't have anything, such as Skype or MSN, starting automatically.

2. It frequently, although not always, takes a good ten seconds from when I click on an icon or a shortcut to when it decides to load the program (for example, any internet browser). Same goes for when I click on something to take me to a new webpage. It isn't the websites as I can access them all from work with no difficulty or delay.

3. It cannot cope with moving graphics. If there's a web page with any sort of advert on, which is pretty much all of them these days, it hangs for 10-20 seconds before I can scroll down or anything. It doesn't seem to have a problem loading or running the adverts, just with being able to do anything else at the same time. Once I've scrolled far enough that the advert is no longer on the page, the scrolling is fine again.

4. If there are any moving graphics or webchat etc on the page, I cannot type properly into a text box (e.g. login, or to chat). I type the letters and nothing appears, and then about 10-15 seconds later it all appears at once. Sometimes it all appears, other times only some of the letters appear. Completely useless when trying to talk to someone, and frustrating when all I want to do is log on to a forum.

Thanks to 2 - 4 I surf the net at about one tenth of the speed that I used to with my old computer. In fact I'm pretty sure my 486 with 64k dial-up was faster when I first got online in 1998. I'm about ready to throw this thing out of the window.

5. If I try to use video chat of any description, it either crashes me out or it gives me lousy video quality and then tells me that its totally-ineffective-to-start-with "Acer Video Quality Enhancement" software has stopped working. There is nothing I can do to make this message go away - I click "cancel" or "close" and it comes back two minutes later. I have to reboot to clear it.

Any suggestions? I have a big claw hammer in my cupboard, and I'm on the first floor with a concrete path beneath. Both these are looking like attractive options right now. (For it, not me - give it another couple of weeks before I'm at that stage.)

I lost a very close friend - how can I get through this?

I just can't deal with this.

I found out recently (on Friday) that my friend Tom passed away...he was hit by a car while riding his bike to a party. It actually happened back on February 19. I had just seen him the day before, on February 18. But I hadn't talked to him since then. For 3 weeks, I kept trying to call his cell phone and it just kept going to his voice mail. I never thought anything had happened to him. He had a bad home life, and he used to roam around a lot. He would stay with different friends every night, just so he wouldn't have to go home. At first, I wasn't worried because he had left his phone at a friend's house before. So I just thought the battery ran out or he forgot his phone somewhere. I never thought that anything had happened to him. But I became more concerned as time went on. I was about to start looking for his friends to see if anyone had heard from him.

I only found out because I decided to look on his MySpace page to see if anyone had asked about him. I started looking through his friends list and I noticed someone had posted a picture of him, saying "RIP Tom 1990-2010."

THAT is how I found out. I had no idea. It's something I'll never forget for the rest of my life. The last time I saw him was when I dropped him off at his brother's house on February 18th. It might have even been on the 19th. When I left, we had made plans to hang out again later that week. But I just never saw him again.

I had only know him for about 5 months, but we became very close friends. There was a big age difference between us...I'm 32 and he was 19. But that didn't matter. He was like my little brother. He was always over at my house and we hung out all the time. I'm into photography, and he often went with me when I went out to take landscape photos. He had a great imagination, and he loved to draw. He took a notebook with him everywhere he went. Often when he went with me while I was taking landscape photos, he would draw.

I was already going through kind of a hard time in my life. I was having problems with depression. Tom tried to help me. We always used to talk and he would try to give me advice. There was just something so different about him.

We used to hang out all the time. We were always on the computer, just watching stuff on YouTube or playing video games.

I can't deal with this. I just can't get through this. I keep looking at his phone number and I want to call him, but I know he will never answer. I'm sitting here at the computer, and I just keep thinking he should be here right now.

What can I do?

Sometimes I think I'm going to be okay and I can get through this, but then other times I just keep seeing him and I just wish I could shake hands with him one more time and talk to him one more time. Then I start crying my eyes out.

Also...is it okay if I still talk to him sometimes? Sometimes, when I'm driving somewhere or just by myself, I find myself talking to him as if he is still there. I know he's not here...but I just feel like he should be.

How do you recover from an unfaithful husband?

Back in March of 2010 I had a huge suspicion that my husband of 7 months was having and affair with a girl (who is also married) we had just become friends with. ( the couple was a long time friend of another couple we were close with) It all started on her husbands b-day when we all went out together and through out the night my husband kept going out side with the girl we will call Amber to have a smoke, not once did he ask me to go out (and I smoke). So I started getting suspicious that night. Then over the next few weeks, he would constantly dissappear down to the basement every day to play video games ( he use to only go on sundays) and when we hung with the other couple he would stand really close to her over me and go for alot of smokes with her! Then I had a surprise 50th b-day party for my mom and March and I had invited Amber and her husband, I noticed every time through out the night that she was starring at my husband and would look very upset when he would hug or kiss me. That night I accused my husband (AGAIN) of something going on between them and once agian he denied it and flipped out and actually took off drinking and driving. When he came home we got into a huge fight and swore up and down he would never do anything like that to me! Then the following tuesday (3 days later) I was still very suspicious so I checked his face book from his cell phone and found a message that siad " all this talk of you getting a vibrator for yourself is making me want to do you even more" from my husband to Amber. It was 7:30 am and I went in to the bedroom and confronted him. He FINALLY admited it and told me all the details, they made out a few times in his car after work, than they kissed a few times at the bar, the first being on her husbands birthday (which is the first night I was suspicious) then one day while I was at a work meeting they met at their location and she fondled his penis and he fondled her breasts. Then he told me they came close to having sex but when it came time to meet he didn't go and siad he could've never taken it that far! Now it is 9 months later and we are still together but I am having major trouble trusting him. I check his facebook and email regularly (which I feel guilty for doing) and actually get right mad at him when he talks to another girl!! What do I do? I do not want a divorce at this point in time, but not trusting is killing me but there are days that all I can do it think about it and I really do not want to........PLEASE HELP.....NO RUDE COMMENTS PLEASE
I forgot to add that they NEVER slept together and that he is very apologetic, actually when I get mad and we fight about it he sometimes actually breaks down into tears. He is really upset about how much he truely hurt me and swears he will never ever do it again, But I am just so stuck on how to move on from here
